Wk 9 – Painting – Graffiti Writing

It was so intimidating to try my first attempt at graffiti art on the Art Walls on Venice Beach because there were so many other good works that I didn’t want to ruin. I didn’t do bubble letters, but rather more blocky letters. Even though I knew I wasn’t nearly as good as most of the other people there it was still a lost of fun to put my name in big bold letters on the wall. We also got to chat with an artist that was there doing his own work and he was really encouraging saying that it just takes paint to get started and that anyone could do it.

I realized that my name got a little lost in the other works there so I added a background to it which gave it more of a presence. Overall it was a really fun experience and I might do more with spray paint in the future.
