Today I got to talk with a really cool person, Priscilla. We met briefly at the beach while we were doing our plaster casting (I helped her pack in the sand around her hand and foot), but that was about it until today. I wouldn’t have guessed most of the things I learned about her.
She loves watching movies and always wants to be one of the first people to see it because she hates spoilers. She loves to babysit kids and frequently babysits her niece. She likes to dance, including Zumba, and used to scrapbook a lot. She was born and raised here in Long Beach and has lived in the same house for her whole life.
She went to public school her whole life except for 2 years in high school when she was home schooled because she was sick. She was diagnosed with leukemia and had to stay home because she was having chemotherapy treatments. However, she didn’t let that stop her from keeping up with school and she continued to take AP courses while at home. She was officially cancer free on August 21, 2016. Being diagnosed with leukemia has inspired her to become a nurse and she is currently a nursing major.
And I want to wish her a very Happy Birthday because she’s turning 21 tomorrow (Feb. 9)!
